One Mexican city's approach to World Cup security

The BBC’s Will Grant got a first-hand look at security preparations in Monterrey, Mexico, ahead of the 2026 Fifa World Cup.

Robotic dogs will patrol the streets around the stadium while personnel in a central command centre will be monitoring activity across the city. Monterrey’s police department also has helicopters, 2 of them Black Hawks, and 90 armoured vehicles at their disposal during the tournament.

Mexico is hosting 13 matches during the World Cup, with Monterrey home to four of them.
