Maaz Sadaqat fell four runs short of a century as Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by 82 runs in the second T20 international on Sunday, sealing the three-match series with an unassailable 2-0 lead.
Sadaqat struck 96 from 51 balls, while Sahibzada Farhan made 73 off 44 deliveries as Pakistan posted 215-3 in Rawalpindi—its highest T20 total on home soil. Mohammad Imran then took 3-11 to bowl Sri Lanka out for 133-7, giving Pakistan its biggest T20 victory against the tourists.
Sri Lanka’s chase never gained momentum, with wickets falling at regular intervals. Maheesh Theekshana’s unbeaten 32 and Chamindu Wickramasinghe’s 29 provided late resistance, but Kamindu Mendis (23) and Sineth Jayawardena (22) were the only other batters to reach double figures.

Pakistan was helped by three dropped catches, with Sadaqat and Farhan making the visiting side pay. The pair added 88 runs for the second wicket in just 49 balls.
Sadaqat hit seven sixes—jointly the most by a Pakistan batter in a T20 innings—and six fours before being dismissed on the final ball of the innings. Farhan, who was dropped on two and 11, struck five sixes and four fours before falling to Dasun Shanaka in the 15th over.
After being dropped on 44, Sadaqat accelerated sharply, sharing a 72-run standoff 31 balls with Hasan Nawaz, who finished unbeaten on 19. Pakistan added 70 runs in the final five overs, surpassing its previous best home T20 total of 208-3 against the West Indies in Karachi five years ago.
