Welcome to Sportstar’s live coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2026 warm-up friendly between Portugal and Chile on Saturday.
Roberto Martinez’s side will look to use this game as a preparation ahead of the quadrennial event where the European side is expected to make a push for the title.
Portugal will however be without the services of its Paris Saint-Germain stars following their UEFA Champions League win. They could be available to come off the bench if required.

Portugal unhappy with the opponent for a couple of cheap fouls earned in the former’s defensive half.
A foul on Leao sets off a mass push and shove near the corner flag! Ivan Roman is down on the floor and his teammates surround him in concern. Time for the VAR to have a look.
Red cards have been shown to both Roman and Leao for their respective shoves on the face.

Cancelo manages to get the right weight on the cross this time but Vigouroux comes off his line to pluck it from the air.
A freekick for Ronaldo at the edge of the box after a late sliding challenge on Bruno. He drives the shot straight into the wall.

Samu Costa almost gets at the end of a low ball put into the box from Semedo but late diving attempt from Pizarro gets it away for a corner.
Semedo’s shot from the edge of the box is way too high.

Cristiano Ronaldo is played through on goal and slots the ball between the keeper’s legs but the flag goes up for offside!

Two balls into the box from either flank for Portugal but the delivery was overhit each time. Attack fizzes out into a goal kick.

A mistake from Jose Sa at the back. His pass to Ruben Dias and short and the attacker steals possession. Dias does well to get back and block the pass into the centre.

First chance for Chile to counter after a long time behind the ball. Maxi Gutierrez manages to earn a corner which is dealt with by the defence before Costa is fouled while trying to head it away.
Time for a hydration break.

Nimble feet from Semedo and Conceicao on the right flank to create some space and drift into the box. Tees up Samu Costa whose shot on goal is quite weak.

Portugal once again get the ball into the box. A lobbed pass to the left finds Leao in space and he looks to guide towards the centre on the first attempt. Was slightly ahead of Ronaldo.

Conceicao dives in to get to the ball in the 18-yard box but is adjudged to have fouled the opponent.
Bruno finds Ronaldo in the box but his low shot is saved by the keeper’s feet.

Portugal shift the ball to the left after some quick passing in midfield but Leao’s ball in is too deep for the players in the box.

Cancelo tries to get a loose ball under control on the left flank but is adjudged to have handled the ball in the process. The left-back has been limping a touch following an earlier challenge.

Leao manages to find space on the left flank after being played in by Ronaldo. Cuts in to his right foot and goes for the near post. The keeper manages to push it onto the post and Chile clears.

Bruno Fernandes with the corner in this time. Ronaldo leaps early at the near post but can’t direct the header on target.

Chile looks for its first attack of the game after wresting possession from Cancelo. The low ball into the box doesn’t clear the first centre back though.

Conceicao puts a low ball into the near post after a small delay and it is cleared away by the defender for a corner.
Stunning save!! Portugal opts to go short and moves the ball to the rightback whose cross is is met by Ruben Dias but Vigouroux brings out a one-handed save!

Early pressure on the Chile keeper from Ronaldo and forces a miskick that helps the team take control of possession.
Rafael Leao is brought down on the left flank to get the game’s first free kick.
