‘Rick and Morty’, once seen as an unhinged take on the ‘Back to the Future’ professor/young man dynamic, has flourished in the years since it started into a crazed sci-fi satire.
Now it looks like the main duo –– genius, alcoholic mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his anxious grandson Morty Smith who split time between suburban family life and dimension-hopping adventures across an infinite multiverse –– are headed on a new adventure… the big screen. The InSneider broke the news of the movie moving forward.
Jacob Hair, who joined the show in 2019, handled numerous episodes and serves as supervising director, will oversee the movie for Warner Bros., which has it in development.

What’s the story of the ‘Rick and Morty’ movie?

Nothing is known about the plot for the movie yet, though Dan Harmon, who co-created the Adult Swim show with Justin Roiland, has alluded to plans for a “a super badass” feature-length episode for a number of years.
Whatever happens, we expect it to be crazy. And weird. And possibly rude.
When will the ‘Rick and Morty’ movie be on screens?
With the film still at the development stage, Warner Bros. has yet to drop an official release date for this one.
Still, fans will be happy that the show is back on Adult Swim on May 24 for its ninth season. Belch!
