Shubman Gill became victim of Abhishek Sharma’s bowling during a league match between Fazilka Falcons and Amritsar Soormas in the Sher-e-Punjab tournament at the I.S. Bindra Stadium in Mohali on Monday.
Gill, captain of Falcons, powered his way to a 35-ball 67 before Abhishek had his counterpart caught at the boundary and celebrated his wicket with a grin.
Both India mates, and also good friends from their age-group days, came face to face when Abhishek opted to bowl and opened the bowling with his left-arm spin against Gill.
In Abhishek’s first spell, Gill only faced his four deliveries and scored three singles. However, in the 10th over of the innings, India’s ODI and Test captain smacked Abhishek for 6, 4, and 6 off the first five balls.
However, off the last ball, Gill went for another pull over midwicket but got caught right at the edge of the boundary by Naman Dhir.
While Gill just turned away and started walking towards the pavillion, Abhishek enjoyed picking that wicket. He finished with the figures of 2/37 in his four overs.
