Sri Lanka announced its squad for the first Test against India starting Saturday at the Galle International Stadium in Galle. The second and final game will be held at SSC in Colombo.

Dhananjaya de Silva will lead the 16-man squad. Wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella has been recalled in the red-ball format while off-spinner Keshara Nuwantha has earned his maiden call up.

Apart from Nuwantha, batter Pasindu Sooriyabandara is also in line to make his Test debut.

Dickwella last featured in Tests in 2023 against Sri Lanka. Dilshan Madushanka is also making his comeback since last playing in 2023 against Pakistan.
