Stonehouse has spent the 2026 season on loan at Edgbaston and will make the move permanent after Surrey agreed to an early release from her contract. She will join the Bears on a two-year deal.

“Alexa has been a breath of fresh air since joining on loan at the start of this season, so to make the move a permanent one is great news for us,” Warwickshire Women head coach, Ali Maiden, said.

“While only 21, she has a wealth of experience already, and we’ve seen first-hand throughout 2026 how important that can be for us in the coming years.

“The signing of Alexa, who has been a regular feature in England A teams and squads, is another example of us working to recruit the next generation of England cricketers.”

After coming through at South East Stars, Stonehouse signed for Surrey ahead of the 2025 season. She was part of the England squad at the 2023 U19 World Cup and has since played for England A.

Stonehouse said: “I’m delighted to be joining Warwickshire permanently after spending the 2026 season here on loan. Ali and the team have been incredibly supportive since I joined the club, and I’ve loved training and competing in this environment, so it’s really pleasing that this will now be home for the next two seasons.

“After enjoying my time at Surrey, I’m excited for a new challenge here with the Bears.”
