The Tamil Nadu government has introduced a new requirement for government employees seeking promotion. Employees must submit details of their assets and financial liabilities within the prescribed deadline to be considered for inclusion in promotion panels.
Asset Declaration Made Mandatory
Government employees have been directed to submit details of their movable and immovable properties, savings, loans and other financial liabilities.
The details must be uploaded through the Tamil Nadu government’s Integrated Financial and Human Resources Management System (IFHRMS).
October 31 Deadline
According to the government directive, employees must complete the submission of their asset and financial details by October 31.
Only employees who submit the required information within the stipulated period will be considered for inclusion in promotion panels.
Properties Held in Another Person’s Name
The declaration requirement also covers properties acquired in the name of another person.
If a government employee has purchased or holds a property in another person’s name, the employee must disclose the property details. The declaration must also include the name of the person in whose name the property is registered and their relationship with the employee.
Loans and Financial Liabilities Also Included

The move is aimed at maintaining a comprehensive record of government employees’ assets and financial obligations and strengthening transparency in government service.
