Tech3 signs Moto2 title contender Senna Aguis for 2027 MotoGP season

Tech3 KTM has completed the signing of Moto2 title contender Senna Agius to join the team for the 2027 MotoGP season, the team announced on Wednesday.

The Australian will be the fifth rookie on the grid for next season as the top tier of motorcycle racing moves to a new 850cc era.

The 21-year-old, who rides for Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP is currently fourth in the Moto2 Championship with 149 points. His teammate Manuel Gonzalez leads the standings with 232.5.

Aguis will complete Tech3’s 2027 rider line-up alongside Luca Marini.

“We believe Senna has the qualities to make a very strong step into MotoGP. He has shown impressive speed and maturity in Moto2, but what really stood out to us was his determination to keep improving and his attitude towards the work required to succeed,” said Guenther Steiner, Tech3 CEO.

“Today, a lifelong dream of mine has come true: reaching MotoGP. So many years of hard work have gone into this moment, and I’m incredibly grateful to Guenther and everyone at Tech3 for believing in me and giving me this opportunity,” the Sydney-born racer said.

Aguis joins Nicolo Bulega, Dani Holgado, David Alonso and Ivan Guevara as the rookies for next season, replacing Franco Morbidelli, Maverick Vinales, Alex Rins, Jack Miller and Brad Binder
