Barcelona players were wearing black armbands for their La Liga encounter against arch-rival Real Madrid at the Camp Nou on Sunday.

The black armbands were a mark of respect to the father of Hansi Flick. The club announced ahead of the El Clasico that Flick’s father had passed away on Sunday.

The two sides also observed a minute’s silence before the start of the game.

Despite the personal loss, Flick was present at the touchline as Barcelona stood on the cusp of securing a second straight La Liga title.
