Asian Games 2026: India wins silver in archery men’s recurve team

India ended its archery team-event campaign at the ongoing Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, with a silver medal in the men’s recurve team event on Friday.

The Indian team of Dhiraj Bommadevara, Yashdeep Bhoge and Neeraj Chauhan lost 1-5 to South Korea’s Kim Je Deok, Kim Woojin and Lee Wooseok.

This is India’s fourth medal in the event in Asian Games history, after it won bronze in 2006 and 2010 and silver in Hangzhou in 2022. Dhiraj was part of the Indian trio that lost to the Koreans in the previous edition.

The gold-medal match began on an even keel, with both teams taking a point each from the first set. But the Koreans then shot 113 out of 120 to clinch the next two sets, while India managed only 104.

Earlier in the day, the Indian team had beaten Iran 6-0 in the semifinals.

Chinese Taipei beat Iran 6-2 to win the bronze medal.
