Toss New Zealand chose to bowl vs England

New Zealand have won a delayed toss and chosen to bowl first under gloomy skies in Northampton for the second ODI against England.

Intermittent showers forced the start of play to be pushed back from 1pm to 4pm local time, with the match reduced to 32 overs per side.

England, who lead the three-match series 1-0, have recalled Sophie Ecclestone after she sat out the one-wicket thriller in Durham on Sunday. She will play alongside fellow left-arm spinner Tilly Corteen-Coleman, the 18-year-old who made her international debut in that game, taking two wickets and sharing an unbroken 10th-wicket stand with Charlie Dean to secure victory.
Lauren Filer will make way in one of two changes for England. As expected, allrounder Alice Capsey returns following her recovery from illness, replacing Jodi Grewcock, who also made her debut in the previous game.

New Zealand, meanwhile, named an unchanged side for this match.

Heavy rain arrived shortly after the toss, threatening to further push back the start time.

New Zealand: Suzie Bates, Georgia Plimmer, Melie Kerr (capt), Maddy Green, Brooke Halliday, Izzy Gaze (wk), Izzy Sharp, Jess Kerr, Nensi Patel, Rosemary Mair, Bree Illing.

England: Emma Lamb, Maia Bouchier, Heather Knight, Alice Capsey, Freya Kemp, Amy Jones, Dani Gibson, Charlie Dean (capt), Sophie Ecclestone, Lauren Bell, Tilly Corteen-Coleman
