Paris Saint-Germain’s attacker Ferran Torres was withdrawn from Spain’s squad after he suffered a left ankle injury, confirmed Royal Spanish Football Federation.
The RFEF said that the 26-year-old World Cup 2026 winner had experienced discomfort in his left ankle for several days and was thereby allowed to leave the camp in a move to “prioritise his recovery”.
Torres will miss the team’s next two UEFA Nations League fixtures against the Czech Republic and Croatia.

Real Madrid forward Carlos Espi, 21, has been called up to replace Torres.
Torres is the latest player to return to his club early during the current international window. Nico Williams and left-back Alejandro Grimaldo had already left the squad because of their respective fitness concerns.
Spain sits strongly at the top of Group A3 after beginning its campaign with a 3-2 victory over England at Wembley. The side followed that result with an impressive 4-1 win against Croatia in Seville on Tuesday.
