Indians at the Hundred, Matchday 16: Deepti shines with ball in Sunrisers Leeds win over London Spirit

Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma had a day to remember in the latest round of fixtures of the Hundred.

Deepti, turning out for Sunrisers Leeds, picked a two-wicket haul to help her side defeat London Spirit by five wickets at Headingly on Tuesday.

Deepti picked the crucial wicket of Nandine de Klerk and removed Katie George, while giving away just 18 runs off 20 balls to help Leeds restrict Spirit to 136 in the first innings.

For Spirit, Grace Harris starred with a half-century (51 off 27 balls) but the rest of the other batters failed to make much of an impression.

With the bat, the 28-year was dismissed cheaply (6 off 7 balls) by Katie George. However, the rest of the Leeds batting unit chipped in with valuable contributions.

It started with Phoebe Litchfield at the top of the order, whose breezy 30 off 17 balls help set the chase in tone for Leeds.

Once Litchfield was dismissed, her Australian teammate Annabel Sutherland ensured the momentum kept going and stayed at the crease till the end to help Leeds cross the line.
