One-time world champion Spain has named its 26-man squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026, which begins on June 11 across the USA, Mexico and Canada.
Head coach Luis de la Fuente, who guided Spain to UEFA Euro 2024 glory, has selected a balanced squad for the tournament.
Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal will be one of the players to watch, although he is likely to miss Spain’s opening group-stage match because of injury.
La Roja, however, will be without midfielder Fermin Lopez, who underwent surgery last week after fracturing his foot.
Spain will play pre-tournament friendlies against Iraq on June 4 and Peru on June 8 before heading into the World Cup.
Drawn in Group H alongside Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay, Spain opens its campaign against Cape Verde on June 14.
